Art the Clown Hijacks Christmas at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights
Universal Studios Hollywood announced a Christmas-themed Terror Tram for Halloween Horror Nights 2026, hosted by Art the Clown.
Universal Studios Hollywood has revealed a Christmas-themed Terror Tram for Halloween Horror Nights 2026, casting the Terrifier franchise’s Art the Clown as the host of an experience dubbed “Every Day is Artmas!” The announcement came during the park’s presentation at Midsummer Scream on Aug. 9.
The Terror Tram, a signature component of HHN Hollywood that takes guests onto portions of Universal’s studio backlot, will be reimagined as a holiday-horror nightmare.
Concept art shown during the presentation plays with children’s Christmas-book imagery, including pages declaring “Art the Clown LOVES Christmas!” and “Art is too early for Christmas!”
Another image shows two contrasting expressions from Art under the words, “This makes Art SAD! This makes Art MAD!”
An Artmas Nightmare Across the Backlot
The twisted holiday storyline will unfold across multiple Terror Tram zones. Zone 1, identified as “Scary Artmas,” features Art the Clown alongside a look at the zone’s portal design.
Zone 4, “Hollywood Sign,” places Art amid a holiday-horror transformation of the iconic landmark.
Zone 6, “Santa Art is Coming to Town,” introduces the Little Pale Girl into the narrative, with the scene described as “Art and Little Pale Girl Shoot Down Santa’s Sleigh.”
The demented killer arrives at the historic Universal backlot with his blood-soaked bag of presents, realizes it is too early for Christmas, and hijacks the tram for his own holiday celebration.
Guests who think they escaped Art’s chaos on the backlot may find themselves encountering him in the theme park as he lurks in the most unsuspecting of places.
Ice Nine Kills Scores the Terror Tram
Metal band Ice Nine Kills will create new music for the experience, putting a dark twist on classic Christmas songs.
The Terror Tram’s soundtrack will include the band’s takes on “Carol of the Bells,” “O Christmas Tree” and additional holiday tracks.
The pairing signals Universal’s effort to bridge the Terrifier franchise’s cult following with the horror-rock band’s fanbase, merging slasher iconography with theatrical metal for a broader crossover appeal.

Art the Clown, the demonic killer from the Terrifier slasher films, stalks his victims during Halloween in the fictitious Miles County in Staten Island, New York.
The franchise, known for extreme gore, grisly kills and over-the-top special effects, has built a devoted following through its theatrical violence and practical effects work.
Broader HHN 2026 Lineup
The Terror Tram joins a loaded 2026 HHN Hollywood bill that includes the return of fan-favorite haunted house “Killer Klowns From Outer Space,” original houses “KILLceañera: Music by Slash” and “Dead, Deader, Deadest,” plus the fiery stunt show “The Purge: Dangerous Waters” at the WaterWorld venue.
Multiple scare zones and street experiences round out the event.
“Dead, Deader, Deadest,” an original haunted house, takes guests on a tour of an abandoned funeral home where disturbing acts once took place.
“KILLceañera,” continuing the tradition of showcasing Latin American myths and legends, centers on the quinceañera of Lola, who turns this rite of passage for fifteen-year-old girls into a festival of death to take revenge on everyone who wronged her.
Grammy Award-winning guitarist and songwriter Slash composes an original score for the house featuring Spanish guitar and an exclusive song titled “15 Candles.”
For those whose only wish is to meet Nikki, Halloween Horror Nights unleashes the iconic main character from Focus Features and writer-director Curry Barker’s breakout horror blockbuster, Obsession, onto the darkened streets of Universal Studios Hollywood, where guests may find themselves face-to-face with the latest victim of the One Wish Willow’s terrifying curse.
Art Expands to Orlando
Art’s presence at Halloween Horror Nights won’t be limited to Hollywood in 2026.
At Universal Orlando Resort’s Halloween Horror Nights 2026, Art the Clown will appear in Downtown Clowntown, a new scare zone that also features the Killer Klowns from Outer Space and other creepy clowns — extending the Terrifier universe across both Universal parks.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood runs on 42 select nights from Sept. 3 through Nov. 1, 2026, and is a separately ticketed event.
