Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 Reveals Cast, Fall 2026 Release Date
Netflix, CD Projekt Red, and Studio Trigger have unveiled the main cast and a Fall 2026 release window for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the 10-episode standalone anime sequel set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.
Four new characters — Weak Kingsley, D, Roman Carax, and Talia Yang — headline the new story from Night City, with the first episode set to premiere at Anime Expo this Friday.
Meet the New Characters of Night City
Protagonist Roman Carax is a young cinephile “in search of stories in a city that abandoned cinema for braindances.” He is voiced in Japanese by Momoka Terasawa and in English by Valeria Rodriguez.
Weak Kingsley, a veteran Edgerunner who “now lives in the shadow of his former glory,” is played by Kentarō Tone (Japanese) and Clancy Brown (English).
D, a Snake Nation Netrunner hunting the killer who wiped out his clan, is voiced by Kōki Uchiyama (Japanese) and Nazeeh Tarsha (English).
Talia Yang, an individual with corpo and Maelstrom ties whose “heart belongs to chrome and violence,” is portrayed by Akari Kitō (Japanese) and Kimoy Lee (English).
Rapper Rico Nasty wrote and performed the track “YOU CAN’T RUN FROM ME” for the anime, which appeared in the second teaser trailer.
Creative Team and Production Details
Kai Ikarashi, who served as storyboard artist, animation director, animator, and prop designer on the first series, is making his directorial debut with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2.
Returning from the original production are writer and producer Bartosz Sztybor, scriptwriter Masahiko Otsuka, and lead character designer Ichigo Kanno, who was animation director and key animator on the first season.
The new series will stream on Netflix.
The staff describe the series as “a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge” set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.
The official description poses the question: “When the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter?”

Franchise Context and Home Video Releases
The original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, produced by Studio Trigger and based on CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 video game (itself adapted from Mike Pondsmith’s tabletop RPG), debuted on Netflix in September 2022 to critical acclaim.
Aniplex of America will release the first series on a complete Blu-ray Disc set in North America on October 28.
Anime Limited and Plaion Pictures will handle European home video releases, while Sugoi Co will distribute in Australia and New Zealand.
A prequel manga titled Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Madness, from artist Asano and writer Bartosz Sztybor, launched on the Comic Alive+ website in December 2024 and is being released in seven languages.
Dark Horse is publishing the English print edition.
Anime Expo Premiere and Fall 2026 Debut
The first episode of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will screen at Anime Expo on Friday at 7:30 p.m. PDT at the Crypto.com Arena.
The series was officially announced in July 2024 with a brief teaser, followed by a new teaser trailer after the character reveal.
The standalone 10-episode story promises to plunge a fresh cast into the darkest corners of Night City, delivering the same dark, violent, and emotionally unnerving tone that defined the first season.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is set to premiere globally on Netflix in Fall 2026.
