Reacher Season 4 Scores a Rare 100% on Rotten Tomatoes at Premiere

Reacher Season 4 premiered on Rotten Tomatoes with a 100% Tomatometer score based on initial critic reviews.

Reacher Season 4 has debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with a perfect 100% Tomatometer score, making it the highest-rated season of the Prime Video series adapted from Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels.

The score is based on an initial batch of roughly 10 critic reviews and remains subject to change as more press register their ratings in the days ahead.

The new season adapts Child’s 13th novel, Gone Tomorrow, in which Reacher spots what he believes to be a suicide bomber on a subway train, only to find a single woman dead as the situation spirals into a wider mystery.

This time, Reacher is being pursued by rogue government agents rather than conventional criminals. Alan Ritchson returns in the title role, with Sydelle Noel joining the cast as Tamara Green, Reacher’s female counterpart for the season.

Early Reviews Praise Season 4

Early reviews have been positive, though not all critics consider Season 4 the show’s best work.

In his review for ScreenRant, Craig Elvy gave the season an 8/10 and noted one specific drawback.

“There is one drawback that holds Reacher season 4 back from being on par with the excellent first and third seasons. Essentially, the second half of season 4 is quite noticeably stronger than the first.”

Elvy was clear that failing to top past seasons hardly constitutes a damning critique for a series that knows precisely what its audience wants and delivers in ample supply.

The season also earns credit for humbling its title character more than viewers may be accustomed to.

Reacher’s Critical Streak Continues

Season 4’s opening score extends a remarkable streak for Prime Video’s most reliable action hit.

Season 3 holds a 98% Tomatometer score, Season 2 sits at 98%, and Season 1 landed at 92%, giving the series a 97% average across its first three seasons.

Even if Season 4’s score dips modestly as more reviews come in, it has already established itself as the critical high point of the franchise.

The Reacher Season 4 Rotten Tomatoes Score

Reacher has become a clockwork performer for Amazon, delivering four seasons in just over four years and giving the streamer one of its most dependable audience draws.

The series benefits from a structure that allows it to pull from any of Child’s novels in any order, since nearly all of them function as standalone stories.

Child has published 30 Reacher novels, beginning with The Killing Floor in 1997, giving Prime Video a deep well of source material to draw on for years to come.

The bigger question for the series may be its leading man.

Ritchson is increasingly busy as an action star outside the show, most recently starring in the Netflix sci-fi feature War Machine.

He has also been open about ongoing conversations with James Gunn about a potential role in the DCU, though he has confirmed that Batman is not the character in question.

Season 5 Already Filming

Audiences will not have to wait long to see what comes next.

Prime Video has already greenlit Reacher Season 5, and filming is officially underway on the next installment.
