The Devil Wears Prada 2 Streaming Numbers Rival Deadpool & Wolverine on Disney+
The Devil Wears Prada 2" drew 15.2 million global views in its first five days on Disney+ and Hulu.
“The Devil Wears Prada 2” has become a streaming juggernaut, reaching 15.2 million global views in its first five days on Disney+ and Hulu. This makes it the biggest live-action movie premiere on the Disney streamers since “Deadpool & Wolverine” in 2024.
Disney did not release an exact five-day total for “Deadpool & Wolverine,” but it previously reported that the Marvel Cinematic Universe entry drew 19.4 million views in six days. That means the discrepancy between the two films when comparing five-day windows is likely considerably less than 4.2 million.
This places the fashion sequel in remarkably elite company.
Streaming Debut Rivals Marvel’s “Deadpool & Wolverine”
The streaming success follows a theatrical run that grossed $220.6 million domestically and $691.4 million globally on a $100 million budget. The film opened in theaters on May 1, 2026, as the kickoff of the summer movie season. It arrived on Disney+ and Hulu on July 29, 2026.
That the sequel reached such a wide audience in theaters makes its streaming viewership doubly impressive. It indicates that the audience continues to expand more than two months after its initial release. The film also holds strong rewatch appeal.
Viewership for “The Devil Wears Prada 2” outpaced that of “Lilo & Stitch,” which notched 14.3 million views on Disney+ globally after five days back in September 2025. At the time, this was the second-biggest Disney live-action film premiere on the platform.
Likewise, the “Hannah Montana” 20th anniversary special tallied 6.3 million views through just three days of viewing across Disney+ and Hulu.
Currently, the sequel is the eighth-highest-grossing film of 2026 at the domestic box office. It is also the fifth-highest-grossing film of the summer. The film has even outperformed “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” which earned $345.1 million domestically.
Charity Auction Follows Box Office Success
Meryl Streep is auctioning off her “The Devil Wears Prada 2” wardrobe, including the iconic cerulean sweater. Proceeds will benefit the CFDA and the Committee to Protect Journalists. The auction adds a second wave of cultural attention to the sequel.

“The Devil Wears Prada 2” has already proven itself as a major Disney franchise property.
Debuting two decades after the original charmed audiences in 2006, the sequel reunited Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci and Streep in their original roles. The cast also welcomed Simone Ashley, B. J. Novak, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, Kenneth Branagh, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon and Rachel Bloom, among others.
David Frankel directed both the original film — based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel — as well as the sequel. The sequel was scripted by Aline Brosh McKenna. Wendy Finerman and Karen Rosenfelt produced.
With a theatrical opening weekend of $77 million domestically and $233 million globally, the film rose above the $74.3 million domestic and $160 million global start of last year’s summer kickoff film, Marvel Studios’ “Thunderbolts.” The streaming numbers now cement the sequel as a rare property that succeeds both in theaters and on demand.
It rivals the biggest Marvel entries on Disney’s own platforms.
